Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is the third console game to be released, and it includes some new modes that combine single and multiplayer play. Grand Prix is the main mode, and it contains a total of four cups that you’ll be able to challenge and compete in. The game, overall, is very simple, and it follows the original design elements from previous Mario Kart games, making it familiar to most users. On the other hand, the single-player mode is nothing innovative. However, if you play it with a friend, you’ll love the 2-player mode in Double Dash. This time, you’ll be able to choose from a total of 20 characters. Double Dash also gives characters specific power-ups to make sure that each character is unique.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Items
Mushroom: Grants the kart user a small speed boost.
Triple Mushroom: Grants the kart user three speed boosts.
Banana Peel: It makes a kart spin around and come to a brief halt.
Green Shell: A Green Shell works like a missile, it will spin and stop any kart that it hits.
Red Shell: A Red Shell works in the same way as a Green Shell, but it will home in on an opponent kart and chase them down until they are hit.
Spiny Shell: This shell hones in on the kart in first place and targets it in particular.
Star: The Star makes the user’s kart completely invulnerable to all damage, while also providing a small speed boost.
Lightning: Except for the user kart, this item shrinks all racers.It will make the other racers vulnerable to getting run over.
Fake Item: Looks similar to a regular item crate. Any kart that runs into it will be launched and brought to a halt.
Special Items
Green and Orange Fireballs – Mario and Luigi: Fireballs split up after being thrown. They can take down multiple opponents at once.
Heart – Peach and Daisy: Flying hearts that surround the user in protective layers. Any items that hit Peach and Daisy become theirs to use.
Yoshi and Birdo’s Eggs – Yoshi and Birdo: These eggs roll down the race track and home in on enemies. They hit and break to drop three more items for the user to pick up.
Chain Chomp – Baby Mario and Baby Luigi: Gives a slight speed boost to the user and chases opponent karts with utmost ferocity.
Triple Green Shells and Triple Red Shells – Koopa and Paratroopa: They can be thrown at enemies or used for protection against other items. The thrown effects are the same as regular Green and Red Shells.
Giant Banana – Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong: Almost impossible to dodge this giant banana peel. The effects are the same as regular bananas.
Bowser’s Shell – Bowser and Bowser Jr.: This giant shell rages down the race track and slams any and all karts in its path.
Bob-omb – Wario and Waluigi: Aim at enemies to blow them up, slowing them down and stunning them for a brief moment. It can also explode onto yourself, so be careful when you use it.
Golden Mushroom – Toad and Toadette: Grants the kart user an infinite amount of speed boosts for a short time.

Starting Boost or Rocket Start
Press the acceleration button after the lights turn green to perform a starting boost at the start of a race.
How to Perform a Double Dash
If you’re playing co-op mode, it’s possible to do a double dash from the starting line. You can do this by making your co-op partner use the boost at the beginning of the race, and this time, the flames will change to a blue color instead of the regular red.
