This page will describe and explain how to defeat the staff ghost in Mario Kart 64’s Mario Raceway. 1. When the race starts, use a rocket start/boost and start a power slide into the grass on the right and back onto the road. After returning to the road, do a slide and mini turbo on the upcoming right turn. 2. After the right turn, slide onto the left turn and drive straight to an optional shortcut. 3. Optional: This next shortcut is really hard to do and will take some practice. On this course, you can jump over the approaching brick wall on the right side and save some time. When you get close to the top of the hill on the road, turn to the right, use one of your mushrooms, and hop at a right angle to jump over the wall to another part of the track. If you master this, you can do this on all three laps. 4. If you choose not to take the above shortcut, power slide on the upcoming left turn instead and go straight. Once you reach the giant mushroom, you can cut in between the wall and the mushroom in the grass. Watch out for the plants on the road. 4.
